🎉 Exciting News! 🎉The School of Mines and Engineering- Taita Taveta University (SME) congratulates Dickson wachira following his appointment as a #Tutorial #Fellow (TF) in the Department of Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering at Taita Taveta University (TTU)!Dickson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in mining engineering, having worked extensively in research, consulting, and education. He is currently pursuing his #PhD in Mining Engineering with special emphasis on #mineral #traceability in artisanal and small-scale mining (#ASM). He has been recognized for his exceptional contributions to various projects and research initiatives such as Enhancing the Mine-to-Market Performance of Kenya’s Gemstone Project.His expertise spans mine planning, design and optimization, financial modeling, digitalization in mining, environmental impact assessments, and feasibility studies. Dickson has also played a key role in several notable research projects, including those focused on renewable energy and sustainable mining practices. He has actively participated in Climate Compatible Growth #CCG#CCG-sponsored training workshops for CLEWs Climate-, Land-, Energy-, Water-systems in #Windhoek, #Namibia, and #MAED in #Trieste, #Italy. Consequently, he is coordinating the Energlobe Club at TTU, which aims to build a robust Kenyan #CLEWs framework informed by key policies and climate action targets.We are confident that Dickson's extensive background and passion for mining engineering will greatly benefit our students and the university community. We are thrilled to feature one of our outstanding postgraduate students ROSE OMONDI who recently participated in the ENERGY MODELLING PLATFORM FOR AFRICA 2024 (#EMPA_2024).
