On the ice, that is, as Berube has been hard at work since he was hired as Maple Leafs head coach a month ago.
The Leafs on Monday morning released their pre-season schedule ahead of the 2024-25 campaign and it’s fairly straightforward.

Toronto will have three home-and-home sets, one each with the Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings.
The Leafs’ pre-season schedule is as follows:
Sun., Sept. 22 — vs. Ottawa, 7 p.m., Scotiabank Arena
Tues,. Sept. 24 — at Ottawa, 7 p.m., Canadian Tire Centre
Thurs., Sept. 26 — vs. Montreal, 7 p.m., Scotiabank Arena

The schedule comes a day after Berube completed his coaching staff with the hiring of Marc Savard as an assistant coach.
Also on Sunday, Rich Clune, who recently was hired by the Anaheim Ducks as an assistant coach, posted to X a message of thanks to the Leafs organization.
Clune, promoted to an assistant coaching position with the Toronto Marlies last season from his role on the organization’s development staff, said that it was “an honour to serve our amazing fans” and thanked “all of the players for their hard work and dedication.”
The former Marlies captain included Larry Tanenbaum, Brendan Shanahan, Brad Treliving, Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser, Ryan Hardy, John Gruden, Kyle Dubas and Lou Lamoriello in his list of thank-yous to various present and past members of the organization.
